Material Selection:

Mold materials are selected based on the required manufacturing process.

 

Factors such as hardness, strength, corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity, cost, and finishing requirements must be considered.

 

Common materials include stainless steel, aluminum, zinc alloys, and magnesium.

 

Machining:

Advanced technologies such as multi-axis CNC machines and electrical discharge machining (EDM) are used to manufacture extremely precise molds.

 

In the case of casting molds, the mold cavity structure is built, and then the mold halves are closed to form the final mold. Molding Process:

After the mold is manufactured, it is used in the designated process. For example, in casting, molten metal is poured into the mold and then left to cool and solidify.

 

In injection molding, a liquid material (often plastic) is injected under high pressure into a sealed mold.

Assembly and Removal:

After the metal or manufactured material has solidified, the mold is removed to extract and finish the final product.
